Thoughts on Shield Plus Trigger Upgrades?

I suggest doing the upgrade in good lighting; it can make all the difference when you’re working with tiny components.

Absolutely! And having some patience goes a long way. Rushing can lead to mistakes!

What specific common pitfalls should we look out for? I want to avoid any issues during my upgrade.

Good question! Make sure to check that all parts are properly aligned before reassembling. Misalignment is a common mistake.

A lot of folks have mentioned that over-torquing screws can damage them. So easy to overlook!

That’s why using a torque wrench could be beneficial. It helps apply the right amount of pressure.

I’m really leaning towards this upgrade! Any last-minute advice before I dive in? I just don’t want to mess it up and laugh later.

I’ve been looking into trigger upgrades for the Shield Plus too. From what I’ve read, there are several options like Apex and Hyve. Apex is known for its crisp trigger pull and quality, but it’s a bit pricey. Hyve, on the other hand, is more affordable and gets decent reviews, but lacks some of the finesse.

That’s a great summary! I’ve heard that the ZEV and Polymer80 triggers also improve overall feel and performance. Anyone tried those?

Comparing the different brands can be really helpful, but remember to consider your shooting style. Some users prefer a lighter trigger while others like a heavier pull for control. It’s all about personal preference!

Absolutely! I found that user reviews on forums are super helpful. They often include the actual shooting experience which isn’t always highlighted in product descriptions.

I’ve just installed a Galloway Precision trigger and I’m loving the difference! The pull is much smoother and it feels more responsive. The price was reasonable too at around $85.

That’s awesome to hear, Melissa! How was the installation process? I’m thinking of going for a Galloway too.

Installation was straightforward, just a few tools needed. I watched some YouTube videos to guide me. JMHO, if you’re comfortable with handling your firearm, it’s definitely doable!

What about the weight of the upgraded triggers? I’ve heard mixed reviews about going too light. Is there a sweet spot for daily carry?

That’s a really valid point, April. Generally, a 3.5-5 lb trigger pull is considered ideal for carry, but it really depends on what you are comfortable with. Practice is key!

I think it might be too personal. Some prefer ‘crisp’ triggers while others like a little ‘slack.’ It’s like choosing between chocolate and vanilla! LOL.

Haha, true! Maybe we should have a ‘trigger taste test’ at the range.

I’ve seen some debate about the reliability of aftermarket triggers. Has anyone had any issues with malfunctions after upgrading?

Great question! I haven’t experienced any issues, but I know others have had mixed experiences. Always make sure your upgrade is compatible and well-reviewed!
