I’m considering upgrading the trigger on my Smith & Wesson Shield Plus and would love to hear from others who have made similar enhancements. Specifically, I’m interested in aftermarket options like the Apex Tactical kits and their real-world performance compared to the factory trigger.
Questions I have:
What are the major differences you’ve noticed after installing an upgraded trigger?
Any recommendations on which upgrade provides the best balance of reliability and performance?
Is the installation process straightforward, or should I consider getting help from a gunsmith?
I’ve done some research, but user experiences can be invaluable. Looking forward to your insights!
I’ve recently upgraded my Shield Plus trigger, and the difference is significant! The responsiveness is on a whole new level. Highly recommend it!

That sounds awesome! I’m considering it too, but how does it affect trigger pull weight?
The pull weight feels lighter but still very safe. You can almost forget about it once you get used to the upgrade.
Interesting! So it enhances the shooting experience overall, right?

I may need to look into getting one if that’s the case! What about anyone who prefers a heavier trigger?
If you like a heavier trigger, you might want to stick with the original. The upgrade leans towards lighter pulls.

That’s good to know! I wonder how it affects the longevity of the trigger mechanism?
So far, I’ve had no issues with longevity. It seems well-made and holds up during extensive use.

You know, I just hope it doesn’t become a trend where everyone feels pressured to upgrade if they don’t want to.

I understand your concern! Maybe it’s all about personal preference and what’s comfortable for each user.
I’m considering the Shield Plus trigger upgrade myself. Can anyone share the installation steps?
Absolutely! Start by gathering tools: a punch tool, flathead screwdriver, and a small hammer. It’s crucial to ensure you have a clean workspace!
Don’t forget to watch a video tutorial! They can really help visualize the process. Also, be careful with the small parts—they can easily get lost.
Good point! I found a helpful video that breaks it down well; PM me for the link!
Tip: Always keep track of all the screws and parts! I lost one during my last upgrade, and it set me back quite a bit.
So true! I used a magnetic tray to hold the screws and it made a huge difference.
