Thoughts on OEM Glock 19 Slide with RMR Cut?

I’m looking into upgrading my Glock 19 and I’ve come across the OEM Glock 19 slides with RMR cuts. I want to hear your thoughts, experiences, and advice on this topic.

Why an RMR Cut?

I’m considering the RMR (Ruggedized Miniature Reflex) cut primarily for improving accuracy and speed when aiming. The idea of using an optic has always intrigued me, especially for competitive shooting and personal defense scenarios.

Pros and Cons of OEM vs. Milled

I’ve read that going for an OEM slide means better fitting and reliability, whereas getting my existing slide milled can be more cost-effective. What have you experienced?

  • OEM Pros:

    • Manufacturer quality assurance
    • Perfect fit for optics
    • Warranty protection
  • Milled Pros:

    • Potential cost savings
    • Customization options

Pricing and Availability

What are some reliable retailers or sources where one can buy the OEM Glock 19 slides with the RMR cut? I’ve seen prices vary greatly depending on the model and retailer, so I’d love to hear your recommendations.

Advice Needed

For those who have already made this jump, do you think it’s worth it to purchase an OEM slide, or would you recommend milling the existing one? Any personal experiences or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Looking forward to your feedback!

That’s great to hear! I’ve read mixed reviews about durability. How long have you been using it?

I’ve had mine for about a year now. I use it almost every weekend, and it’s holding up like a champ! Very pleased with the materials used as well.

Do you use it for competitive shooting, or just regular practice? Curious how it performs under stress!

Regular practice mostly, but I have done a few competitions. I think the accuracy is stellar, especially with the RMR cut. It really enhances aiming.

I agree, the RMR cut is a game changer! But has anyone noticed how the finish holds up? I’ve read some complaints about scratches and scuffing.

I’ve had some minor scratches, but honestly, nothing that affects performance. A holster will do that to any finish.

That’s true, the holster wear is inevitable. Personally, I think the overall durability is still excellent compared to other options out there.

Great point! I’m considering making the switch to an OEM slide. Is the price difference justified, in your opinion?

Absolutely! I believe you get what you pay for with these slides. The materials and precision are worth the investment, especially for long-term use.

I wonder how the OEM models compare to aftermarket slides. Anyone had experiences with both? I’m curious about performance differences.

I’ve used both, and honestly, I prefer the OEM slide. The fit and finish just feels more reliable to me.

I think it comes down to personal preference, but I agree that the OEM slides seem more durable overall than some of the aftermarket options.

Agreed! But let’s not forget, some aftermarket slides look amazing. It’s all about finding that balance between aesthetics and reliability.

The aesthetics are important, but when you’re shooting, can you really see how pretty it is? Plus, I’m more about function over form!

True! If it works like a dream, who cares what it looks like? Reliability for the win!

I’ve been using the OEM Glock 19 slide with the RMR cut for a few months now. My Trijicon RMR fits perfectly and I really appreciate the low profile. It feels solid and reliable.

That’s great to hear! I was considering the Trijicon as well. Does it affect your sight picture at all?

I found that the RMR cut allows for a smooth co-witness with my iron sights, which is a big plus. Definitely enhances the shooting experience!
