Tennessee House Speaker Jimmy "O" Naifeh tells all
Law Abiding Legally Armed Citizens, and Veterans who have have asked for help with mental problems:  UP YOURS!

Some soldiers who were asked to serve in the current war, are returning with mental problems.  Those of them who seek out treatment were wounded again by House Speaker Naifeh on  March 20, 2008.   A bill sponsored by Rep. Nathan Vaughn was defeated in a House Criminal Practice and Procedure Subcommitee when Speaker  Naifeh helped defeat the bill with his vote.  As Speker of the House of Representatives, he can sit in on any committee.  He elected to go out of his way to help defeat this bill.  This proposal stated that there was a seven year moritorium after the treatment that the Veteran could not receive a Handgun Permit.  Only after this period of time could the person be allowed to submit the application for a Tennessee Handgun Permit.  Although Speaker Naifeh once wore a U.S. Army uniform, he has forgotten about the price some soldiers pay when their duty does not included pushing paper.

Tennessee Handgun Permit Holders numbered about 205,000  on March 20, 2008.  They wanted a peice of legislation that would have allowed them to take their family to a restaurant while carrying a firearm for self-protection for themselves, their family, and others.  This proposal was defeated when House Speaker Naifeh voted against the bill.  House Speaker Naifeh has issued statements about guns in bars but, this proposal did not allow that and, the Legally Armed Citizen was not allowed to drink any alcohol.  By helping to defeat this legislation, Speaker Naifeh has helped criminals all over Tennessee.  Now, restaurants and their parking lot have higher odds of crimes being committed there because patrons cannot carry firearms.  This also includes law enforcement officers who are not on duty.  Great work by a person who speaks about how he leans on the side of Law Enforcement and Handgun Permit Holders.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If some people were able to ask the killers of the innocent students in Virginia, or other states that have seen deadly shooting incidents why they did it, most would probably say to get their message out and to make the headlines.  Lets face it, they were NUTS!  Speaker of the House Naifeh has helped these nut cases by deafeting a bill that would have allowed the staff or faculty at learning facilities to carry handguns to protect the students.  Now, any nut case that wants to get their name in the headlines, can just go to a school, watch the Resource Officers Agenda, and harm and kill innocent people.  Thanks Speaker Naifeh for helping to protect our young ones.  Some of the most deadly attacks in the Isreali versus Hammas Terrorists incidents, were the attacks on Isreali schools.  Only when the parents and faculty elected to be armed to protect their children, did the attacks decline.   Speaker Naifeh must not care about what happens to innocent children.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

State parks can be dangerous.  Now they will be more dangerous because Tennessee Law does not allow law abiding people to carry a firearm there, but the criminal, nut case, terrorist, or your basic thug, does not care about the law.  They want to commit their crime in locations where there is little chance of  them getting hurt.  State parks, restaurants, schools, these are a few locations where nut cases, criminals, or any person who wants to be in the headlines or someone who wants to kill innocent people, can have higher odds of doing what they want.  All because one person elected to impose his will against law abiding citizens.

Comments

This dinosaur should have been removed from office a long time ago.  It is unfortunate that the people in his district don't see him as the arrogant person he is.  What the people want does not matter if it is not what Jimmy wants.

I am amazed at the outcome of these bills. Personally contacting several local TN Congressmen, I was lead to believe these would all pass with minimal objections. We need to post all elected officials how voted against these bills and work to get them all out of office. Legally Armed

I’m really sorry to hear that folks in TN have to put up with a nut case like this. We all have our burdens in both State and Federal Government. I wish you the best at the ballot boxes.

I am appalled by Speaker Naifeh?s comments that he voted against the restaurant bill because restaurant owners in his district did not want guns in their establishments. Why is it that these restaurant owners need the Speaker to defeat this bill when every other business in the state that doesn?t want guns in their establishment knows all they have to do is post a gun free notice? Is Speaker Naifeh serving the people of this state by restricting second amendment rights of law abiding citizens, or is he serving his own interest in this matter? I think the later.
