What's the Best Glock for Everyday Carry?

I’ve been diving into the world of concealed carry and one of the names that keeps coming up is Glock. There are so many options out there, and I’m curious about which model would be best for everyday carry.

Things I’m Considering:

  • Size and Weight: I want something that won’t feel bulky but is still reliable.
  • Capacity: How many rounds should I be looking for? I’ve heard mixed opinions about the standard magazine sizes.
  • Ease of Use: I’m relatively new to carrying, so a model that’s beginner-friendly would be ideal.
  • Reliability: I’ve read that Glocks are generally reliable, but I’m interested in hearing about specific experiences and recommendations.

Potential Models I’ve Heard About:

  • Glock 19: Seems popular for a reason, but is it too large for concealed carry?
  • Glock 43: A single-stack option that might be more comfortable to carry, but is it still as effective?
  • Glock 26: Compact but can be a bit chunky; worth the trade-off?

Request for Input:

What are your thoughts on these models, or are there others you think I should be considering? If you have personal experiences with any of these Glocks, please share them! I’m looking for honest opinions and any tips you might have about carrying daily. Also, if there are any accessories or holster suggestions, I’d love to hear those too!

Thanks ahead of time for the help!

I’ve been carrying the Glock 19 in 9mm for a while. I love the balance between recoil management and stopping power. It’s great for everyday carry!

Totally agree! The 9mm is easy to shoot and great for quick follow-up shots. Plus, ammo is relatively cheaper.

While the 9mm is popular, the .40 S&W has its fans too. It offers more stopping power but has a bit more recoil. It can be a trade-off for everyday carry.

I’ve tried .40 S&W and found it manageable, but I prefer the 9mm for ease of carry. Just fits better for my lifestyle.

Anyone here looking into the .45 ACP? I hear it’s a beast with stopping power but also a challenge to conceal due to size.

I’ve carried .45, and while it packs a punch, it’s bulkier; I often revert to my Glock 19 in 9mm.

The .45 ACP does sound great but I think I’d struggle with the recoil. It’s scary to think about shooting it in a stress situation.

That’s a valid concern! The 9mm is definitely more forgiving in recoil for new shooters.

If you’re looking for a good compromise, the Glock 23 (.40 S&W) could be worth considering. It offers a balance of both worlds, especially in a compact size.

That’s a solid suggestion! I often see people debating about calibers. Ultimately, it comes down to what feels best for you and your situation.

I’ve found the Glock 19 to be a fantastic option for everyday carry. It’s a good balance between size and capacity, making it easier to manage while still offering 15+ rounds.

I agree! The Glock 19 is my go-to as well. I love how it conceals easily under a t-shirt, and the weight is manageable!

The Glock 26 is also a strong contender. It’s compact and perfect for those who want something smaller yet still effective for self-defense. Size-wise, it’s easy to conceal.

I’ve been carrying a Glock 26 for years! It’s super easy to carry daily and I barely notice it’s there.

Has anyone tried the Glock 43? I’ve heard it’s one of the slimmest options for concealed carry, but I’m curious about the performance on the range.

I have, and it’s pretty lightweight. The grip is thinner, which is great, but it does have less capacity. Still worth checking out if you prefer minimal bulk.

I think it really depends on what you’re comfortable with. For me, the size and fit of the Glock 19 just feels right. I feel more secure with it.

Honestly, anyone saying the Glock 43 is better than the Glock 19 is just wrong. You lose too much in terms of capacity and firepower!

I can see both sides. The Glock 43 is easier to conceal, but you do sacrifice a bit. It really depends on the user’s needs.
