I’m on the hunt for the best holster for my Glock 19X and I’d love to get some input from all of you. Carrying a firearm is a big responsibility, and I want to make sure I have a holster that feels comfortable, secure, and is practical for my needs.
What I’m Looking For:
Comfort: I’ll be wearing this holster for long periods, so comfort is a must. Whether it’s IWB or OWB, I want to avoid any pinching or irritation.
Retention: The holster should hold my Glock securely while also allowing for a smooth draw when needed. How do different brands stack up in this regard?
Concealment: Since I plan to carry concealed, the holster needs to minimize print. Any recommendations on how certain designs work in this aspect?
Durability: I want something that can withstand daily wear and tear. Which materials or brands have proven to be reliable over time?
Ease of Use: Quick access is essential, but I also want to ensure I can re-holster safely and without fuss.
My Carry Style:
I typically prefer to carry IWB, especially outdoor summer scenarios, but I’m open to suggestions if OWB has great benefits. Any experiences or reviews on specific models would be fantastic!
Brands I’ve Considered:
Alien Gear
CrossBreed
Blackhawk
Safariland
Concealed Carrier
If you have any favorites, or if you’ve had a good or bad experience with any holster, please share! How have they worked with your Glock 19X? What should I be looking out for? I appreciate any help you can provide!
I’ve been using an IWB holster for my Glock 19X, and it’s been great for concealment. The Crossbreed SuperTuck is my favorite - very comfortable for daily wear!
I have an OWB holster from Alien Gear that I really enjoy. It’s comfortable and provides easy access, which is great for home defense and casual outings.
I use a shoulder holster sometimes, especially during winter when I can layer up. The Galco Miami Classic is stylish and functional for everyday carry!
I personally prefer IWB because of the extra concealment. But it definitely takes some getting used to! I’ve tried a cheap one, but it was a huge mistake. Spend a bit more for comfort.
Good point! I’ve found that breathable materials and good moisture-wicking fabric help a lot in summer. Keeping an extra shirt handy is a lifesaver too!
Kydex is definitely tough! I love how it keeps my Glock securely in place, but it can be a bit uncomfortable for all-day wear. Anyone prefer leather for the comfort factor?
Leather does age, but I’ve used a good quality leather holster for years without problems! Nylon seems to be a middle ground but lacks the retention of Kydex.
