What's the Best 1911 Under $1000?

That’s a solid choice! The RIA 1911 has a great reputation for being reliable and accurate, especially for the price.

I would recommend checking out the Taurus 1911. It’s a bit under the radar but offers exceptional value and features.

I didn’t know Taurus made a 1911! What’s the reliability like?

I own the Taurus 1911, and it’s been reliable for me. Great sights and feels solid in hand, especially for under $1000!

Just a heads up, the Springfield Armory 1911 Range Officer is well worth considering too. Great performance!

Absolutely! The Range Officer is versatile and perfect for both new and experienced shooters.

What about the ATI 1911? I hear it’s often overlooked but pretty decent for the price.

I’ve heard mixed reviews on ATI. Some love it, others find reliability issues. Anyone have personal experience?

I purchased an ATI once, and while it was pretty, it had a few jams. Not the best experience, honestly.

That’s unfortunate! Seems like some people get a lemon. The quality can vary greatly.

You can’t beat the classic Colt 1911 if you find one under $1000. It’s iconic for a reason!

True, but sometimes the price can creep up. Has anyone seen Colt models go for less than $1000 lately?

It’s rare, but I’ve seen Colts under $1000 at local gun shows. Just be ready to check for quality.

Good advice! Always good to inspect before buying, especially for 1911s.

Lol, no matter what, always remember to lubricate your 1911. It’s like feeding a pet; they need care!

I recently got a Rock Island Armory 1911 for under $600 and have found it to be a solid platform for upgrades. The aftermarket support is robust and affordable.

Have you looked into grips? Changing to a G10 or rubber grip can drastically enhance control and comfort without spending much.

Upgrading the sights is a great investment, especially night sights. They can significantly improve accuracy in low-light conditions, and there are affordable options available.

Totally! I added night sights to my Kimber and it’s a game changer! Worth it under $100.

Don’t forget about triggers! A good trigger job can be done economically and it really smooths out the pull. My favorite is a short reset trigger upgrade.
