Thoughts on the Best .22 Mag Auto Loaders?

Looking for Feedback on .22 Magnum Auto Loaders

I’m in the market for a .22 Magnum autoloader and would love to hear your thoughts and experiences with different models available. I’ve been doing some research, but with so many options out there, it can get a bit overwhelming. Here are a few specific things I’m curious about:

Reliability

  • How reliable have you found your .22 Mag auto loaders? Any brands or models that have really stood out in terms of performance?

Engineering Challenges

  • Have you encountered any engineering flaws or issues that I should be aware of when considering a purchase?

Recommendations

  • If you have any recommendations for specific models that you consider to be the best bang for your buck, I’d love to hear them!

Personal Experiences

  • Share any troubleshooting you’ve had to do with your .22 Mag autoloaders. What were the problems, and how did you resolve them?

General Thoughts

  • For those who use .22 Mag for hunting or target shooting, what has been your overall experience with the caliber? Is there anything unique about it I should consider?

I appreciate any input you can share. Personal stories, links to reviews, or even just general pointers would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

I’ve been researching .22 Mag auto loaders for quite some time now. The Ruger SR-22 really stands out for its accuracy and minimal jam rates in various conditions. Anyone else had similar experiences?

I totally agree! I’ve shot mine in rain and dust, and it performed beautifully. I think it’s one of the best options out there.

I’ve had mixed results with the Kel-Tec PMR-30. It’s fun and lightweight, but I’ve encountered jams, especially with cheaper ammo. Accuracy has been decent, though.

I’ve had similar issues with my Kel-Tec as well, although I think it’s more about the ammo choice than the gun itself. Has anyone tested it with high-velocity rounds?

Yes! The higher velocity ammo worked significantly better for me. Less jamming and better accuracy in my PMR-30.

I think overall reliability varies by user experience. The .22 Mag is a great round, but every loader seems to have its quirks. What do you all have to say about the Heritage Rough Rider?

The Heritage is a solid wheel gun, but for auto loaders, I believe the Ruger and the Kel-Tec lead the pack. I wish the Heritage had an auto loader model!

That’d be awesome! I’d love to see how they could manage the mechanics of that. Sticking to the ruger myself…

The FN 509 seems interesting too, but I haven’t heard many reviews regarding its performance with .22 Mag. Anyone tried it?

I haven’t tried the FN 509, but I’d like to know too. It might be a hidden gem—or a total dud. Let’s find out together!

I think we need more humor in this discussion. Not all of us are sharpshooters! :joy: But seriously, the right loader can make or break a day at the range.

So true! A single jam can ruin your groove. My buddy always brings extra ammo just in case—very clever.

I’m with you on that! Can’t wait for the weather to improve so I can test some of those loaders in the field. I think an outdoor test is ultimately the best review.

It’s great hearing everyone’s input! I can’t decide between a Ruger or a Kel-Tec at this point. I guess it comes down to personal preferences and what you prioritize in a loader.

I’m really interested in the .22 Mag auto loaders too! I’ve heard great things about the Ruger SR-22 and its versatility. Anyone tried it out?

The Ruger SR-22 is solid! It’s lightweight and has a good magazine capacity. The only downside some report is the price – slightly higher than other models. But worth it if you want reliability!

I’ve been looking at the Taurus TX22 as well. It’s affordable and has decent user reviews. How do its features stack up against the Ruger?

The Taurus TX22 is a great budget option! It has a higher capacity magazine than the SR-22 and handles well. Some users appreciate how lightweight it is too.

Has anyone had experience with the Savage A22 Magnum? I’m curious about its accuracy and build quality.
