Thoughts on Glock +2 OEM Extensions?

I’m looking to get some feedback on Glock +2 magazine extensions, specifically the OEM ones. I’ve been considering adding these to my Glock for improved capacity, but I want to know a bit more before making a purchase.

Questions I Have:

  1. Installation: How easy are these extensions to install? Do they come with all necessary components?
  2. Compatibility: Are there any issues with magazine springs when using these extensions? I want to ensure reliability and safety.
  3. Personal Experiences: For those who have used them, how do they perform during range sessions? Any jams or misfeeds?
  4. Recommendations: Are there specific brands or models that have worked particularly well for you?

Additional Info:

I’m primarily interested in using these extensions for both range practice and potential competitive shooting scenarios, so any insights on performance would be greatly appreciated. I’d love to hear any tips or tricks you’ve learned along the way, especially regarding maintenance and troubleshooting.

Thanks in advance for your input! It’s always great to learn from the community’s experiences and recommendations.

I’ve been using the Glock +2 OEM extensions for a while now, and I can say they definitely improve capacity without sacrificing reliability. I’ve had zero feeding issues so far.

That’s great to hear, richardsbryan! I have been considering them but was worried about possible durability issues. Have you had them through any tough conditions?

I’ve tested them in cold weather and after lots of rounds at the range, and they hold up really well. No cracks or functional issues. Overall, I’m very satisfied with them.

Sounds promising, ublake! I own several standard magazines, but I think a little extra capacity would be great. How is the overall feel when shooting?

The extra weight is negligible, and the grip feels solid. It honestly feels like a small upgrade that makes a big difference in performance and peace of mind.

Good to know! I’ll grab a couple to try them out. Just curious, have you ever experienced any failures while using them?

No failures on my end. I did hear some mixed reviews online, but personally, they’ve been reliable—and they look pretty sleek too!

It’s funny how opinions can vary so much. People argue about everything, even magazine extensions! Overall, I think I’ll still go for them based on your feedback.

Definitely give them a shot! Just watch the local laws about magazine capacity if you’re carrying. It could vary where you live.

Thanks for the reminder, saunderspatrick! Safety first! I guess I’ll be ending my search for ‘the perfect extension.’ Humor aside, everyone seems to agree on these being solid.

I’ve installed the Glock +2 extensions on my G19, and I found them super easy to put on. Just slide them on, and you’re good to go. They’re very compatible with the OEM magazines.

That’s great to hear, Kathleen! I have a G17, and I’ve been hesitant to try them out. Do you think they’d fit just as well?

Absolutely! The Glock +2 extensions are designed to work across multiple models, including the G17. Just make sure you’re using the right magazine as it varies by capacity.

Good to know! Any tips for installing them without hassle?

One tip is to use a little bit of lubricant on the inside of the extension before sliding it on. It can save you time and frustration!

That’s a solid tip! Have any of you encountered issues like misalignment or anything funny during the installation?

I had a minor issue with misalignment on my G26 because the extension didn’t click into place securely. Just double-check it’s fully seated before use!

Thanks for the heads-up! I’ll keep that in mind. Do they add much to the overall grip length?

Not too much, really. Most users find it enhances grip without being cumbersome. It’s a nice balance for those needing extra rounds!
