Taurus G3 vs G3c: Which One Should I Choose?

Seeking Advice on Taurus G3 vs G3c

I’m in the market for a new handgun and can’t decide between the Taurus G3 and the G3c. I understand that both have their own advantages and ideal uses, but I could really use some insights from people who have experience with either model.

What I’m Considering

  • Specifications: I’ve read about their differences in barrel length, weight, and magazine capacity. If anyone could break down how these specs translate to real-world performance, that would be fantastic!
  • Concealability: I’m particularly interested in how the G3c stacks up in terms of being a concealed carry handgun. For those who carry, how does it feel compared to the G3?
  • Reliability: I’ve heard mixed things about Taurus firearms in general. If you’ve owned either one, how has the reliability been for you? Any issues that you’ve faced?
  • Intended Use: I’m looking for a firearm mainly for self-defense, but I also enjoy going to the range occasionally. Which model do you think fits better for this purpose?

Additional Thoughts

If anyone has tried both models, I’d love to hear your side-by-side comparisons. What are the day-to-day pros and cons you’ve experienced?

Thank you in advance for your help! Your experiences will really inform my decision-making process.

I think one of the biggest differences is the size. The G3 is a full-size pistol, while the G3C is compact. This makes the G3 harder to conceal, but it could be more comfortable to shoot for some people.

Exactly! The G3C’s smaller frame makes it great for concealed carry. I’ve found it much easier to carry around all day.

Don’t forget magazine capacity! The G3 typically holds more rounds than the G3C. It might be worth considering how that affects your needs.

True! Plus, if you’re planning on doing some competitive shooting, that extra capacity in the G3 might give you an edge.

Honestly, the ease of use varies between the two. The G3C’s grip is smaller, which can be more comfortable for those with smaller hands. How has everyone’s experience been with the grips?

I have smaller hands, and I found the G3C very comfortable. It felt secure and manageable!

Both models have good ergonomics but it’s really about what you prioritize. I like the G3 for its balance in weight and size. It’s really stable for shooting.

I hear you! However, the weight difference is also noticeable. The G3C is lighter, which can make it easier to carry concealed.

Weight is a big factor! I find that when I’m carrying for extended periods, the lighter G3C is definitely more comfortable for me.

Good points all around. But I’d also consider how frequently you’ll be carrying. If it’s for self-defense, the G3’s capacity could be a priority.

I think there’s a place for both. If you want something for home defense, the G3 might be the one. For everyday carrying, G3C is excellent.

That’s a solid take! It really depends on individual needs and preference.

Which one is more fun to shoot? I think that also matters. The G3 gives a satisfying feedback, but the G3C is surprisingly fun too!

Totally! If only we could merge them for the perfect blend of features!

I’ve had both the G3 and G3C for a while now. For self-defense, the G3 feels more solid in my hands, and I really trust it. The G3C is a bit more compact, which could be great for concealed carry, but I worry about the recoil for rapid fire.

I totally agree! I’ve mainly used the G3 for recreational shooting. It’s reliable and surprisingly accurate even for a full-size gun. The G3C is fun for that too, but I feel like it’s not as stable when shooting fast.

I’ve only shot the G3C, but I found it to be very reliable in competitive settings. It cycles well and handles smoothly, which is a plus for speed shooting. But I haven’t tried the G3 yet to compare.

That’s interesting, Nancy! I’m curious about its accuracy at longer ranges, though. Does anyone have experience with either in that department?

I’ve tested both at the range. The G3 holds up well at longer distances, and I’ve had no failures even after several hundred rounds. The G3C too, but with less punch. Great if you’re looking for something for self-defense at close range!
