Sig P320 Compact vs Glock 19: Which One Should I Choose?

Introduction

I’ve been doing a lot of research on handguns lately, and I keep coming back to the Sig P320 Compact and the Glock 19. Both firearms have their advocates, and I’m trying to determine which would be better for my needs. I would really appreciate your thoughts and feedback.

Performance Comparison

  • Accuracy: From what I’ve gathered, the Glock 19 is often praised for its accuracy right out of the box, while the Sig P320 Compact has a great reputation as well. Are there significant differences in performance at the range?

  • Trigger Feel: The trigger on the Sig P320 Compact is said to be ergonomic and smooth, but some users prefer the Glock’s consistency. How do your trigger experiences compare?

Suitability for Home Defense

  • Capacity: The Glock 19 typically has a higher magazine capacity. Is that a critical factor for those who prioritize home defense?
  • Reliability: Glock has a long-standing reputation for reliability, but I’ve heard good things about the P320’s performance in stressful situations. What are your experiences with these models?

Carry Options

  • Size and Weight: The P320 Compact is often touted for its compact size, making it easier to conceal. How does it stack up against the Glock 19 in practical carry situations?
  • Holster Compatibility: Are there specific holsters that work better for one over the other? Recommendations would be appreciated!

Features and Aftermarket Support

  • Sights and Customization: I’ve looked at some customization options for both. What do you prefer about each in terms of aftermarket support?

Conclusion

I’m hoping to collect some opinions, experiences, and maybe even some links to comparison videos or articles that could help me with my decision. Any insights you’ve got are welcome!

I’ve found that the SIG P320 Compact has a superior grip texture that feels really nice in hand compared to the Glock 19. It just feels more comfortable to me during extended shooting sessions.

I totally agree! The P320’s modular design lets you customize the grip size, which is a huge advantage for comfort.

I’ve shot both, and I still prefer the Glock 19. While the P320 has great ergonomics, I find the Glock’s slimmer grip allows for a better fit in my smaller hands.

That’s interesting, dharris! Have you ever tried adjusting the grip panels on the P320? You can really change how it fits in your hand.

I love how the undercut on the P320’s trigger guard fits my hand, allowing for a high grip. But I can see why some might prefer the Glock’s more traditional feel.

The undercut really does make a difference! I felt less recoil with the P320 when I first tried it.

The Glock 19’s grip feels a bit rigid to me, but the P320 offers a more adjustable option which is a nice feature for different hand sizes.

I’ve owned both and found the P320 grip more comfortable when I shoot for a longer time. It has a softer feel for sure!

Totally, I think it’s worth noting that the adjustable backstraps on the P320 are a game-changer for comfort.

Is anyone else slightly amused by how both models have such devoted fans but carry such different vibes? I mean, one feels like a high-tech gadget, while the other is a tried-and-true classic!

Both are fantastic options! I love reflecting on how personal the choice can be for everyone. It really comes down to what feels good in your hand during practice.

I prefer the Sig P320 Compact for its modularity. The accuracy is fantastic, and I’ve found the trigger pull to be smoother compared to the Glock 19.

I’ve shot both, and honestly, it depends on your hands. The Glock 19 feels a bit blockier to me, but both are reliable.

I’ve been using the Glock 19 for years and it just performs flawlessly. The trigger pull is heavier, but I get used to it, and I feel confident in its shootability.

I agree with ramireztravis. Glock’s reliability is hard to beat. However, I found the Sig’s grip better suited for my hand, making it more comfortable during prolonged shooting sessions.

That’s a good point! The grip angle on the Glock can be a hurdle for some. Do you think it affects your accuracy much?

For me, accuracy is pretty similar, but I feel the Sig allows for faster follow-up shots thanks to the lighter trigger. It really enhances the overall shootability.

I’ve noticed the same with the Sig, but it’s all subjective! I think we need to shoot both a few more times to make any final judgments.
