Looking for Thoughts on the Bushnell TRS-25 Red Dot Sight

I’ve been considering the Bushnell TRS-25 red dot sight for my shooting setup, and I’d love to hear what others think about it. I’ve read a few reviews online, but I’m looking for firsthand experiences from the community.

Key Points of Interest:

  • Performance: How does it hold up during various lighting conditions? Would you say it’s reliable for both day and night use?
  • Durability: Has anyone had issues with it being rugged enough for field use?
  • Value: Do you think it’s worth the price, or are there better options out there for the same features?

If you have used this optic, please share your experiences and any tips for optimizing its use with different firearms. Your insights will really help in deciding if I should make the investment or look elsewhere. Thanks in advance!

I’ve been using the Bushnell TRS-25 for a few months now, and the clarity has been pretty impressive, especially at this price point. It holds zero well too!

That’s great to hear! How does the brightness compare for you, especially in bright sunlight?

I’ve used the TRS-25 and I find the brightness settings to be adequate. On max, it outshines my friend’s Vortex Sparc AR.

Interesting comparison! I always thought Vortex was the top dog. Did you notice any optical distortion at the edges with the TRS-25?

No distortion on mine! The optical quality is surprisingly solid, especially for the price. What about you, gpearson?

I found the TRS-25 to be quite good in low light as well. It’s not a top-tier optic but worth the price. Overall, I’d say it’s a great starter sight.

I’ve heard mixed reviews on the TRS-25. Some claim it’s too basic. What do you guys think? Would it hold up for competitive shooting?

I wouldn’t recommend it for serious competition, but it’s solid for range days and casual hunting.

I love the simplicity of the TRS-25! Sometimes simpler is better, right? Just point and shoot!

Totally agree! But, how’s the battery life? I can handle simplicity as long as it lasts long enough.

The battery life is decent, I get about 300 hours on brightness settings 5-6! Not bad for such an affordable sight.

Honestly, if you want to humor yourself with a red dot sight that looks cool but isn’t functional, just plaster a TRS-25 on a PVC pipe and call it a day! No offense, but it won’t rock the tactical world! :joy:

Lol! You make a point! But if one just needs a practical option without breaking the bank, the TRS-25 remains a viable choice. Just remember its limits!

I’ve had my Bushnell TRS-25 for over a year now. The construction is solid, and it definitely holds up against rough handling. It’s been pretty reliable in rain and snow too.

That’s great to hear! I’ve been concerned about how it performs in heavy winds. Any experiences with that?

I live in a very wet environment, and I’ve taken my TRS-25 out during some heavy downpours. It performed well — not a single issue with water resistance.

Sounds promising! However, I’ve read some reviews claiming they had issues with fogging. Anyone dealt with that?

I haven’t experienced fogging, but I use mine in moderate conditions. Maybe those issues were with earlier models? Mine has been very reliable so far.

Fogging can be an issue, especially in humid environments. Always check the seals and make sure they’re intact. It’s critical for ruggedness.
