Looking for Insights on the Marlin Glenfield Model 20

Shooting with my Marlin got a lot more fun after I added a custom paint job. It really makes it stand out! Anyone here tried custom finishes?

I’ve thought about painting mine too! But I’m worried about making it look too gaudy. Any tips for a tasteful design?

I’m glad to see this topic! The Marlin Glenfield Model 20 is a beloved classic. It was produced in the 1960s and 1970s, making it quite sought after among collectors.

Absolutely! The production run was around 1966-1980, and they made over 200,000 units. That contributes to its value among collectors today.

Don’t forget that the Model 20 was marketed towards the youth market! This helped popularize it as a great starter rifle, so many people have fond memories tied to it.

I completely agree, and that nostalgia really boosts its appeal. Plus, its lightweight design makes it easy for younger shooters!

On the collector front, prices can vary significantly, but a mint condition Model 20 can fetch quite a pretty penny these days. I’ve seen some go for over $400!

Wow, that’s impressive! What factors do you think affect the value the most?

Condition is key! Original parts and good maintenance history drive the value up. A rare model variation can also significantly increase collector interest.

Interesting! I’ve been considering getting one but I’m worried about finding parts for restoration. Any tips?

You’re in luck! There are numerous online forums and parts sellers dedicated to Marlin firearms. Just keep an eye out for reputable dealers!
