Seeking Feedback on the Henry Golden Boy .22 Magnum

I’m considering buying the Henry Golden Boy rifle in .22 Magnum and I’d love to hear from anyone who’s had experience with it.

What I’m Curious About:

  • Accuracy: How does it perform at various distances? Especially for small game hunting?
  • Reliability: Any issues with feeding or jams? How does it handle different brands of ammunition?
  • Build Quality: What are your thoughts on the craftsmanship? Does it feel solid in hand?
  • User Experience: How is it for beginners? Any tips for someone new to shooting?
  • Value for Money: Do you think it’s worth the price?

My Use Case:

I’m looking for something that’s not only good for hunting but also manageable and fun for recreational shooting at the range. If you’ve taken it hunting or to the range, I’d love to get your thoughts on how it performed, and anything you wish you had known before buying.

Thanks in advance for your insights!

I’ve owned a Henry Golden Boy .22 Mag for two years now, and I can say that its accuracy is impressive at distances of up to 100 yards. It’s definitely reliable for both target shooting and small game hunting.

That’s great to hear! I’ve been curious about how it performs with different types of ammo. What’s your experience with that?

I’ve found that it handles a variety of ammunition quite well, but my favorite is the CCI Magnum for its reliability and accuracy. I rarely experience misfires with it.

My experience mirrors that, Emily! I used it for plinking, and I could consistently hit targets at 75 yards without much trouble. The Golden Boy is a joy to shoot.

How does it handle the less expensive ammo, like Remington? Is there a noticeable difference?

In my experience, it can be a bit finicky with cheaper ammo. I had a few stoppages with Remington, but high-quality rounds work just fine. Stick with what runs smoothly!

Honestly, the Golden Boy is one of the best investments I’ve made! It’s really accurate, but I’d say the sweet spot is between 50 and 75 yards for best performance.

Couldn’t agree more! It’s become my go-to for small game. The craftsmanship is also a highlight for me.

I’ve only shot at 50 yards, but I’m always hitting the target! Its balance feels great, and I suspect it would perform well farther out too.

I’ve shot mine out to 150 yards and still managed decent groups. For accuracy, it’s remarkable for a .22. I try different ammo brands to see what works best.

That’s impressive! Was it consistent at that distance, or more of a mixed bag?

Generally, it was consistent, but I would adjust the sights a bit for the longer shots. Love how versatile this rifle feels. Definitely a solid performer.

I sometimes joke that if you miss with this rifle, it’s definitely user error! It’s just that fun to shoot.

Haha, true! Its reliability really boosts your confidence as a shooter too.

I usually shoot targets at 25 yards, and it’s perfect for that. However, I’ve wondered if I should stretch my range with this rifle! I’m up for the challenge.

Give it a try! Most users here agree, the .22 Mag is fun and capable at longer ranges. Plus, it’s a great training tool.

Absolutely! I’m excited to take it out for a longer session. Any tips on sight adjustments?

I’ve had my Henry Golden Boy .22 Mag for a couple of months now. The build quality is top-notch; it feels solid in your hands! The wood finish is beautiful, and the receiver has a nice weight to it.

I totally agree! The heft of the rifle adds to a feeling of stability while shooting, and the brass receiver gives it that unique look that stands out.
