Looking for a Remington 700 Sendero Review - Pros and Cons?

Seeking Feedback on the Remington 700 Sendero

I’m considering getting a Remington 700 Sendero, and I’m looking for some honest feedback and reviews from those who own or have experience with this rifle.

General Impressions

I’ve heard great things about its accuracy and range performance, but I’d love to get some real-world insights. How does it hold up for different types of shooting?

Accuracy and Performance

  • How accurate have you found it? I’m particularly interested in how it performs beyond 200 yards.
  • Any experiences with recoil? Is it manageable, or does it pack a punch?

Comparisons with Others

I’ve also been looking at other models, particularly the Browning Hells Canyon X Bolt. How does the Sendero compare in terms of precision, build quality, and overall experience?

Recommendations and Upgrades

  • Are there any common upgrades or modifications that you think are worth considering?
  • What about optics? What setups do you find work best with the Sendero’s long-range capabilities?

Troubleshooting

Lastly, for those who had issues with their Sendero, what sort of problems did you face? Any tips for troubleshooting or maintenance?

Feel free to share your reviews or any thoughts you might have. Your insights will help me and others make an informed decision. Thanks in advance!

I’ve had my Remington 700 Sendero for a couple of years now, and I can definitely say its accuracy is impressive. I’ve shot it in .30-06 and .308, and both calibers consistently produce tight groups at 100 yards. Definitely a solid choice for precision shooting.

That’s great to hear, zbennett! I’ve been considering different calibers for mine. Have you noticed much difference in accuracy between .30-06 and .308 with your Sendero?

Experience has shown me that the Sendero shines with heavier bullets, especially in .300 Win Mag. I consistently hit targets out to 600 yards. It’s all about choosing the right ammo to match your intended use!

I agree, walkeranthony! I tried using lighter bullets with my .338 Lapua, and the accuracy wasn’t as great as I hoped. It seems like the Sendero really benefits from the heavier loads. What brand of ammo do you prefer for those long ranges?

I’ve had solid results with Federal Premium ammo in my Sendero. I can hit the bulls-eye almost every time at the range. Consistency really is key for this rifle!

Overall, the Remington 700 Sendero is a great rifle for long-range shooting, but it does have its weight. It’s not the lightest option out there, so keep that in mind for carrying in the field.

So true, jilljohnson! I’ve learned to prepare a bit more when taking it out for hunts, especially with the added weight. But in terms of accuracy? Totally worth it!

How does the Sendero compare to other rifles you’ve used? I’m eager to know if it’s really that much better. Any side-by-side experiences?

In my view, the Sendero stands tall against others in its class. I had a chance to shoot a friend’s custom rifle, but my Sendero kept up on the accuracy front. That said, the custom was lighter and more ergonomic.

That’s a fair comparison, vsilva, but isn’t custom usually more expensive? I feel like the Sendero’s price point offers pretty good bang for your buck.

Absolutely, charles65! The price is a huge draw for the Sendero. Plus, I’ve found that it performs much better than several other rifles I’ve tried, both in terms of feel and accuracy.

I’ve personally had a hilarious misfire moment at the range with my Sendero! Should’ve checked the ammo type because I accidentally mixed up my .270 and .30-06 rounds. Let’s say the grouping went… all over the place! Anyone else have funny stories?

Oh, xherrera, that’s hilarious! I totally get that. I once forgot to tighten my scope after adjusting it, and my shots were off like crazy. What a learning experience!

I’m currently considering the Remington 700 Sendero for precision varmint hunting. Anyone have experiences with that type of shooting? I’d love any tips!

Perfect choice for varmint hunting, wbrown! I’ve used mine for that and it’s effective. Just make sure you’re using the right caliber for small game. .223 works well but can be overkill with bigger varmint like coyotes.

The Remington 700 Sendero has a robust build with a stainless steel barrel and a synthetic stock, which contribute to its durability and weather resistance. It’s designed for long-range accuracy.

I really appreciate its ergonomic design! The stock fits well and provides a comfortable grip, which is essential for stability when shooting.

It’s interesting how different materials affect handling. The Sendero’s barrel is heavy, which might not be for everyone, but it really helps with recoil control.

Totally agree! I think the weight also lends itself well to its precision. It really feels solid when you’re shooting at distances.
