Anyone tried the PMAG D-60 for AR/M4? Looking for insights!

I’ve been looking into upgrading my magazine options for my AR15 and came across the PMAG D-60. I’m really interested in its performance and reliability, especially since it’s a high-capacity drum magazine designed for the AR/M4 platform. Here are some specific points I’m curious about:

Performance

  • How’s the feeding? Does it jam often, or does it run smoothly?
  • Durability: I’ve read that these are quite robust, but how do they hold up in real-world shooting scenarios?

Capacity Benefits

  • With a 60-round capacity, how does this compare to traditional magazines in terms of balance and handling?
  • Is the weight manageable for extended shooting sessions? Does it affect quick reloads?

Purchase Recommendations

  • I’d love to hear from anyone who has purchased one recently. Which retailers offer the best prices? Are there any particular sales or discounts I should look out for?

User Opinions

  • For those of you who already own a PMAG D-60, what’s your overall impression? It would be helpful to get some opinions on whether it lives up to the hype!

I’m planning to use it primarily for recreational shooting and possibly some tactical training, so any advice you have on whether this magazine would be a good fit would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help!

I’ve used the PMAG D-60 in my AR-15 and found it performs flawlessly. The capacity is great for extended sessions at the range. Just keep it clean!

I have an M4 variant and noticed a slight difference in fit. It works, but not as snug as I prefer. Anyone else had this issue?

Great insights! I’ve heard mixed things about compatibility. Someone mentioned it can jam with certain brands. Any updates on that?

My experience is similar! I had to modify my magwell a bit for it to fit properly. It’s a minor hassle for the extra rounds.

I’ve been curious about the D-60 for my AR-15. A buddy said that having an adjustable gas block helps with feeding reliability when using larger capacity mags. Thoughts?

Exactly! I noticed better feeding after I switched. It’s all about tuning your system to work together.

I’ve experienced a few feeding issues when using the D-60 with my cheaper AR brand. Maybe it’s just my gun? Has anyone else had that problem?

I think it’s often about the gun’s tolerance. I had to polish my feed ramp for it to work smoothly.

Let’s not forget, it’s a blast to shoot with, even with a hiccup or two! If you don’t mind the slight learning curve, it’s well worth it.

Totally! After all, what’s life without some excitement? Just clean it regularly, and you’ll be good to go!

I’ve been using the PMAG D-60 for a while now. Clean it regularly with a soft brush and some CLP. It really helps maintain its feeding reliability!

I totally agree! Additionally, I store mine flat and never leave it loaded for too long. Prevents unnecessary spring fatigue.

I too recommend a good cleaning routine. Also, make sure to check the followers for dirt; they can get gummed up easily.

Did you guys know the D-60 has a dust cover? It helps keep debris out, but don’t forget to clean under it.

I’ve heard mixed feedback about the durability of the D-60. Some say it’s great, others have had issues after heavy use. Anyone else have thoughts?

I have only positive experiences! Just follow routine maintenance and it should last. Test your mags after cleaning for best practice.

Cleaning technique is key! I usually use compressed air to blow out any dust and dirt from the feed lips. Has anyone tried that?

I’ve used it too! But be careful not to damage anything inside. Sometimes I just go for a damp cloth instead.

For storage, it’s wise to keep them in a cool, dry place. Heat and humidity can warp magazines over time.
