Anyone tried the Franchi Affinity 3 20 Gauge Bottomland?

I’m thinking about picking up a Franchi Affinity 3 in 20 gauge, especially with that sweet Bottomland camo pattern. I’ve done a bit of research but I’m keen to hear from those who have used it.

Performance and Reliability

  • How does it perform on the field? I hunt a lot and need something that’s reliable and can withstand various conditions. Any info on how it cycles with different types of loads?
  • Is it good for bird hunting? I typically go for waterfowl and dove, so how does this gun handle light and heavy loads?

Comfort and Handling

  • Is the weight comfortable for extended days of hunting? I prefer lighter guns that won’t wear me out after a long day.
  • How’s the recoil? I’ve heard 20 gauge can be pretty manageable, but what’s it like with this model?

Bottomland Camo

  • What are your thoughts on the camo pattern? Does it really help with blending in, or is it more for looks?
  • Durability of the finish? How does the Bottomland finish hold up with the usual wear and tear from hunting?

Overall Experience

  • Any specific pros and cons? If you own it, what do you love? What would you change?

I’d appreciate any insights! Looking to grab this for my next hunting season but want to make sure it fits my needs. Thanks!

I’ve had my Franchi Affinity 3 in Bottomland for about six months now, and it’s been a game-changer for my upland bird hunting. The reliability has been fantastic, and it cycles everything well.

I agree! I mainly use low-recoil shells, and the Affinity 3 handles them like a champ. You don’t lose much in terms of performance.

I haven’t tried the 20 gauge yet, but I’ve heard that the Affinity 3 is lighter than some other models. Is that true? How does it feel after a long day of hunting?

It feels great! I’ve walked miles and never felt fatigued. It’s all about the balance and weight distribution, honestly.

Has anyone had issues with particular brands of ammunition? I usually stick with Fiocchi, but I’ve heard mixed reviews about others.

I’ve only used Federal and Winchester, and they’ve both worked flawlessly for me. I think it just depends on the specific batch sometimes.

Overall, my experience has been positive. I took it out for turkey season, and I was still impressed. It’s hard to beat the price-to-performance ratio.

I feel like the Bottomland camo pattern is pretty sharp, too. It blends well in the environment. Anyone else agree?

Absolutely! Plus, it’s not overly flashy. It feels understated yet effective, which I prefer.

I’ve got one, but I’m nervous about trying it in a wet environment. Anyone tested it in the rain? How does it hold up?

I’ve used it in wet conditions, and it still performed well. Just make sure to clean it afterward!

All in all, I think the Franchi Affinity 3 is a solid shotgun. Just be aware, it can jam if you push it with lower-end shells.

Good to know! I guess it’s worth investing in quality ammo to avoid those jams!

I’ve been using the Franchi Affinity 3 20 Gauge with the Bottomland camo for a few months now. The visual design is stunning and the camouflage really blends well in wooded areas. The feel is solid, and it sits comfortably in my hands even after long hunts.

I completely agree! I’ve noticed that its matte finish helps reduce glare, which is a plus. It feels well-balanced too, making it easy to handle while moving through dense brush.

The Bottomland pattern is just perfect! I use it for waterfowl hunting and it works great along the reeds and marshes. The only downside is that it’s a bit heavy compared to my previous shotgun, but it’s not unbearable.

That’s interesting! I actually find it to be pretty light for a 20 gauge. Maybe it’s just personal preference after using lighter models. Have you had any fatigue during your hunts?

I feel like the camouflage really helps, especially during early mornings when visibility is low. The ergonomics of the gun are also impressive; I can quickly bring it to aim without any awkwardness. Definitely a good choice!
