Anyone tried the Benelli SBE3 20 ga? Looking for a solid review!

I’ve been doing some research on the Benelli Super Black Eagle 3 in 20-gauge, and I’m interested to hear about others’ experiences with it. The SBE3 has been getting quite a bit of attention lately, and I’m curious if anyone here has the chance to test it out in the field or at the range. Here are some specific points I’d love feedback on:

Performance

  • Recoil System: How does the recoil management feel? Is it noticeable, especially in a lighter gauge?
  • Accuracy: Have you found it to be precise for both hunting and sport shooting?

Features

  • Ergonomics: What’s the handling like? Does it feel comfortable during extended use?
  • Shooting Modes: How versatile do you find it? Does it perform well in various conditions?

Comparison

  • Other Shotguns: How does it stack up against other 20-gauge shotguns, like the Browning A5 or Remington Versa Max?

Overall Impressions

  • Hunting Scenarios: Is it a good choice for waterfowl or upland game? Any firsthand hunting stories would be great!

I’m weighing my options and would appreciate any insights before making a purchase. Thanks everyone!

I recently purchased the Benelli SBE3 20 ga, and I’ve been really impressed with its performance. It’s lightweight and handles beautifully, even in wet conditions. Highly recommend it!

Great to hear! I’ve been curious about how it performs with different loads. Any insights on that?

I’ve used it for upland bird hunting, and it has been reliable. No misfires or jams, and it cycles faster than my old shotgun. Definitely worth the investment.

I had a bit of trouble with it in some mud last season. Had to clean it a couple of times to keep it running smoothly. Just be aware of that if you’re hunting in dirty conditions.

That’s awesome! So you’re saying it’s held up well over time?

Yes, after several trips out, it’s still firing flawlessly. I haven’t experienced any reliability issues after heavy use.

I agree with robertgood. It feels solid and well-balanced. However, I did notice some kick, which surprised me for a 20 ga model.

That’s interesting. I thought 20 ga was supposed to be less kick than other gauges? Is it comparable to a 12 ga?

It’s definitely less than a 12 ga, but you can still feel it. Just be prepared for a bit more than you might expect!

I love using mine for clay shooting. Once I got it dialed in, it performed like a dream. Just be sure to practice with it!

Sounds like a fun time! Does it handle well with quick follow-up shots?

Absolutely! The semi-auto action is quick, and I can fire off multiple shots accurately without a hitch.

Mine has been great overall, but I did have a friend who had some difficulties with the stock finish chipping. Just something to keep an eye on.

That’s concerning. I hope mine doesn’t have that issue! What do you think is the cause?

I’ve had the Benelli SBE3 20 ga for a few months now. The weight distribution is fantastic—very balanced, and it handles well during upland hunting. It’s lightweight enough for long treks but sturdy enough to handle rough conditions.

That’s great to hear! Comfort is key for long days out. How does it feel during clay shooting? Any specific pros or cons?

That’s a strong endorsement! I’ve been worried about shoulder fatigue. Do you guys feel it handles well in tighter spots, like brushy areas?

I’ve found it excellent for clay shooting! The smooth action and minimal recoil make it a pleasure to use. It’s comfortable to shoot for extended periods, and my shoulder thanks me for it.

Definitely! The SBE3 is surprisingly agile for its size. I was in some tight cover recently and found it easy to maneuver. The ergonomics really shine in those situations!
