     AN ACT to amend Tennessee CodeAnnotated, Title 39, Chapter 17, relative to handgun permits. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OFTENNESSEE 

     SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated,Section 39-17-1351, is amended by deleting the section in its entirety: 

     (a) The citizens of this Statehave a right to keep and bear arms for their common defense; but the Legislatureshall have power, by law, to regulate the wearing of arms with a view toprevent crime.
