Alabama Pistol Permit I.D. Pouch ™

In states that require training before a person receives their CCW License or Permit, one of the first areas addressed is what to do during a traffic stop.

  • Keep your hands on the steering column,
  • Don't reach for anything until directed by the officer.
This allows for both sides, the officer and the citizen, to be aware and safe during the encounter.  Most Law Enfocement Officer are told to watch the hands.  If a person goes to grab something, watch out!  Some Legally Armed Citizens want to make sure they have their drivers license and carry permit in their hands when the officer approaches their vehicle.  This normally requires reaching for something in their wallet or purse.  This causes alarm to the officer.  This is when tensions get high.

There is now a better way for a Leglly Armed Citizen to handle this type of situation, and have their drivers license and carry permit immediately available without any diggin in a wallet or purse to obtain them.  The Alabama Pistol Permit I.D. Pouch ™ is the answer.

NO DIGGING IN YOUR POCKETS TO GET YOUR ALABAMA PISTOL PERMIT.

Why are we showing you the Alabama Pistol Permit I.D. Pouch ™ on a belt and on the car visor?  The reason is that the Alabama Pistol Permit I.D. Pouch ™ has a two fold purpose.  It allows anyone who has been issued an Alabama Pistol Permit, to show their permit immediately to a Law Enforcement Officer that shows they have the authority to carry their pistol concealed.  They can do this without diggin to obtain their pistol permit. In a vehicle, the I.D. Pouch is removed from the belt and placed on the visor in the car.  It has a clip on the back to allow this.  If you have been issued an Alabama Pistol Permit, check on the back of your county permit to see if 'open' carry is restricted, also check with your County Sheriff about this issue.

Why the reflector?

Amost every state that requires training, tells each student if they are ever in a situation where shots have been fired, to have their hands up and their carry license or carry permit in their hands when Law Enforcement Officers arrive on the scene.  Because the majority of armed encounters occur at dust or in the night, the reflector allows a Law Enforcement Officer to see that the individual is trying to show them some form of identification when they arrive on the scene. So the reflector material is not seen all the time and make you stand out like a target, we cover it with a leather insert that is hot stamped Alabama Pistol Permit.

The reflector works so well, it is hard to get a photo without the reflector being hit by light.  In reality, it does not shine back like the photo.  It is just like a safety jacket you see on the highway when a road crew is working, or a police officer is at the scene of a traffic accident.  Using the same material that a Law Enforcement Officer is familiar with, helps them identify the person as a lower threat.  You are still a threat and they will yell commands when they arrive at the scene because they know that shots have been fired.  However, if more than one person has their hands up, they will see the person with their identification out and visible as a lower threat.

In Alabama it is allowed for any citizen to carry a pistol in the open (exposed).  However, if you carry your pistol concealed or in a vehicle, you are required to have an Alabama Pistol Permit issued by your county Sheriff.  If you are legal to carry a pistol concealed, you should have something that you can show your Pistol Permit immediately without having to dig all over your person to get it.  The Alabama Pistol Permit I.D. Pouch ™ meets this objective.

If you have been issued an Alabama Pistol Permit, you are legal to carry your pistol in other states.  In Alaska, Arizona, and Vermont, any law abiding citizen is allowd to carry a loaded firerarm without any license or permit. Alaska and Arizona honor the Alabama Pistol Permit including these additional states:

Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Carloina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont and Wyoming.

An example of a state that allows 'open' carry but only if you have been issued a carry license or carry permit from a state they honor, is Tennessee.  So, being able to show you have the authority to carry in the 'open' is a good idea.

Lets face it.  You are a law abiding citizen who is authorized to carry a loaded pistol.  You don't need a badge to show this and irretate a Law Enforcement Officer, but you should have something you can show your authority to carry without having to dig in your pants or purse.  The   Alabma   Pistol   Permit   I.D.
