Some states have different requirements as to how an individual may carry their their weapon[s] once they have obtained their permit / license. Since there has been some confusion as to terms, the following definitions may help with understanding certain terms or abbreviations. We have established our priority
on the name legally armed. The primary reason for this is that in
some states, an individual is considered to be legal if they carry in "open"
view. This does not require the individual to pay any fees to become
legal. One state that has this provision is Kentucky. In this
state only of a person carries in a "concealed" manner is a license required.
So, if a person can be legally armed without obtaining a permit / license,
the name legally armed encompasses all legal individuals. Some people
believe in the 2nd Amendment and will never obtain a permit / license.
If they live in Kentucky or some other state that has a provision for "open"
carry, they are ass legal as another person who desires to carry in a "concealed"
manner and has obtained their permit / license to carry "concealed".
Note: Tennessee is not a "concealed" or "open" state. This is because the Tennessee Constitution stipulates that "no laws may be enacted in Tennessee regarding the wearing of arms unless it has a view to prevent crime". Concealment does not meet this definition, however, the majority of all permit holders in Tennessee carry in a concealed manner. |
